PRIMERGY SX30
Storage Subsystem
The tower and rack variants of the PRIMERGY SX30 storage
subsystem come in two types: with two independent SCSI
busses with 7 hard disks each, or with all 14 hard disks on
one SCSI bus. In addition, a special variant of the type with
two SCSI busses can be ordered for use as a cluster
subsystem. This can then also be used for previouslydelivered
systems (with 2 SCSI busses) with the aid of a
conversion kit. Cluster capability is enabled through the use of
dual node SCSI modules. In conjunction with Microsoft
Windows 2000 Advanced Server, Windows 2003 Enterprise
Edition or with the Linux Enterprise Editions of Red Hat and
SUSE, two PRIMERGY servers can then each be operated
via a 2-channel RAID controller on one 2-channel PRIMERGY
SX30 subsystem.

Storage Subsystem (SAS)
Depending on the model, the maximum internal hard disk capacity of a server can soon be exhausted. The FibreCAT SX40 storage system with its SAS technology enables flexible expansion with powerful and highly available hard disks as storage requirements grow.
Up to 12 SAS or SATA hard disks offer a total maximum capacity of 9 Tbytes in an external housing. Cascading of up to 3 FibreCAT SX40s via the second SAS x4 link permits expansion to a maximum of 27 Tbytes of external hard disk capacity.

FibreCAT® SX80
The FibreCAT SX80 is the perfect system for the data centre. It
offers up to 56 TB of storage capacity with 1-5 enclosures with up
to 56 disks (SATA-II or SAS). Optionally the system can be
equipped with a second RAID controller.
The FibreCAT SX80 offers enterprise class reliability as well as
snapshot functionality. All this comes at a very affordable price. All
critical components (RAID controller - in the case of dual-controllersystems,
fans, power supplies, disks) are redundant and can be
replaced during operations.
FibreCap™ technology protects the RAID controller cache in case of power failure.
The FibreCAT SX80 is a fast storage system. This comes from the state-of-the-art 4 Gigabit per second Fibre Channel
technology, the fast 15k rpm SAS disks, as well as from FibreCache™, which uses a high performance interconnect to
synchronize RAID controller caches directly.
